What does a credit cover?

One research credit pays for one successful request for data. Your agent may make several requests to answer a question.

A request can return a summary, a page of results, or a batch of up to 50 selected posts. Extra pages use another credit. The cost is per successful request, not per post or price point.

Here is what these bounded research tasks used in our checks on 24 September 2026.

These examples describe particular request steps, not fixed prices per answer. More authors, periods, sources or pages can require more data requests. A continuation delivers another page; exact recovery returns a response already paid for. Each response reports its actual charge.

For scale: if your investigation uses 10 credits, the 100-credit Free allowance covers 10 investigations of that size. Your agent’s approach determines the actual usage.

Keep track as you research

Checking your usage, connecting your agent, exploring the research guide and browsing Live on the website do not use research credits. Successful searches with no matches still use one credit; failed requests are not charged. All your connections share your account balance.

Research credits are separate from any ChatGPT or other agent-provider subscription. Review your balance and credit period in your account.
